The IWPA is a self-funded, province-wide organization with members and directors from all areas of British Columbia.

Our members are open market sawmills, remanufacturers, custom cutters, custom processors, and wholesalers engaged in the production and sale of both commodity lumber and specialty products such as timbers, siding, paneling, and molding of all native BC species.

IWPA members recognized long ago that individually they lacked the size, time, and resources to keep up to date on issues affecting their businesses and that they had very little influence with respect to those issues. To remedy that, they formed our association, which by 2004 had over 120 member companies employing over 4000 British Columbians in the production and sales of 4 billion board feet with a value of $2.5 billion.

Collectively, the economic significance of our sector has now been recognized and the Independent Wood Processors Association has become a valuable source of input to governments seeking to formulate effective legislation and policy.
